Sanyo PLV-Z3, Great Trilogy Lamp!
There are not many projector series’ that keep people inspired and ready to buy the next generation, however the Sanyo PLV-Z series has effectively kept consumers breaking down the doors to purchase the next sequel. The Sanyo PLV-Z3, although not the latest, is a serious machine with staying power. Since the introduction of the Z4, the Z3 has come down in price and is very attractive to the new projector buyer. The Sanyo PLV-Z3 is simply a monster when it comes to Contrast. Its Contrast ratio is 2000:1, and this basically means that your blacks are going to be quite dark, even compared to your new LCD Television. I own a brand new Sony Bravia LCD television and I can tell when watching dark scenes that the blacks actually look more like dark grays. With the Sanyo PLV-Z3, the black isn’t perfect, but it is muck closer than most machines.
The Sanyo PLV-Z3 still offers an impressive 800 ANSI lumens, meaning that it can get quite bright. The brightness is powered by a 135W projector lamp. You may purchase a PLV-Z3 projector lamp by clicking Sanyo PLV-Z3 here. The 135W projector lamp ensures that you are not wasting as much energy, so the electric company won’t be your nemesis any more. This low wattage will also ensure long lamp life because it simply won’t get as hot as its high-wattage friends.
Another very important feature of the Sanyo PLV-Z3 is its extremely low audible noise level. It can get as low as 23db’s in economy mode, and if you were to compare that to most projectors on the market, its practically silent. Watching movies is much nicer when you don’t have a loud fan interrupting the quiet scenes.
The PLV-Z3 has every possible input, plus it has an incredibly high native resolution of 1280 x 720p. What even more impressive is that it can compress up to 1920 x 1080p , which is almost unheard of for most of the home theatre market. It is true that you might not be able to take advantage of this feature unless you have some serious High Definition channels, but it’s good to know that it is there.
The Z3 also features both Horizontal and Vertical Lens shift to make the placement of your image even easier. Overall, it is a pretty sweet projector and worth getting your hands on!
