Canon LV-5110 … Functional Greatness
Some projectors don’t seem to add up to much on paper, but when they are used in practical applications, some of these projectors can really perform well. One of those projectors is the Canon LV-5110, and if you were one of those people who decided to take a chance on this baby, you did well. The contrast levels don’t seem very high in the specifications, reading 300:1, but you get shockingly good blacks and pretty darn good color saturation. If you prepare for the situation and create the environment so that it is in low light, you will get a great result.
The LV-5110 is wonderful for the office and still quite the pleasure at home, even though it is technically has a 4:3 aspect ratio. It offers most possible inputs including everything in the HD range up to 1080i. Also, a most important feature that you can employ with the LV-5110 is the lens shift.
The lens shift is great, for instance, when you must place the projector quite low or high in order to avoid any kind of obstruction. You don’t have to fiddle around quite as much with the legs of the projector to get the picture into the right position.
Great for the on the go presentation maniac, weighing just slightly over 5 pounds, you will forget that you brought it along. The Lumens that are available for the LV-5110 are a strapping 850 ANSI, providing enough brightness for the average user and an economical projector lamp.
The LV-5110 utilizes a 132W projector lamp, one of the most efficient UHP lamps created to date, allowing for maximum efficiency with low power usage. The power necessary for the projector lamp then carries over to the noise department by making sure you don’t hear any more than 39db. The projector lamp will also last you at least 2000 hours, and that isn’t even when using the eco-mode.
The resolution for the LV-5110 is SVGA quality with 800x600p that can be compressed up to a 1280x1024p to add that extra boost of crispness that you require. The LV-5110 will give you awesome detail for DVD’s and allow you to give a no compromise presentation without a fuzzy screen.
This projector will last you a very long time, and I don’t believe you will need to repair it, but please take care by cleaning it regularly to avoid problems in the future!
