MyProjectorLamps Europe will continue to sell replacement projector lamps for many years to come, as projector lamps will continue to be manufactured for all existing projectors on the market.
There is some good news regarding the European Commission’s rules on mercury products. If you own a projector that uses traditional replacement lamps, you are allowed to continue using it.
EU regulation 2023/2049, which is set to come into effect on January 1, 2026, restricts the sale of new mercury-containing products but allows for the continued supply of specialty spare parts, including projector lamps, for electronic and electrical equipment (EEE) products already on the market. Most manufacturers like Epson, SONY, and Panasonic will rely on 3rd party retailers such as MyProjectorLamps to offer replacement lamps into the future. If lamps are not directly available through the major projector manufacturers, you will be able to purchase replacement lamps at MyProjectorLamps for all models.
In conversations with our contacts at Philips and Osram—the world's leading lamp manufacturers—both confirmed that the new regulation does not apply to projector lamp bulbs. The ban is more specifically targeted toward fluorescent lamps.
